[Blimey. Just realised I haven't posted on here in nearly two years! A lot of stuff's gone on since that last one, some big and some little, and most of it's gone recorded as shortform posts and pictures on Facebook or Insta. This trip I think warrants something a touch longer, so here we are...] What's the Mike Tyson quote: "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face" ? The oddly-named St Notswalds Way ride was a bit like that to start with - a trip borne out of a plan going awry. Sometime in mid-2024 I'd signed up to run with clubmates from Abbey Runners (and friends) for four days on the St Oswalds Way, from Heavenfield near Hexham to Holy Island. Until December I was going really nicely, running well, a few minor niggles but nothing show stopping, and was looking forward to a few days of long, steady, scenic trail running as a build towards other stuff later in the year. Hundred Acre Janathon - Part Two.

Having made their rissolution to find a Janathoner, with an internet and some clogs, Tigger and Pooh decided to split up to collect the things they needed. Tigger bounced off to Rabbit's house to see if he could borrow the clogs Rabbit had been making, while Pooh wandered over towards Eeyore's house toward the pond to find the internet, or at least a fishing net. Pooh had found the net, and was carrying it back when he decided to stop by and see Eeyore. Eeyore was sitting in his house, chewing on a thistle and looking glum. "Oh, hello. I see you have a net. You've not come to catch me, I suppose?" Pooh smiled at Eeyore. "No, Eeyore. This is my internet. Tigger and I are going to catch a Janathoner, they like internets and clogs, and they run a lot." Juneathon 2012 - Days 1-5

Whoops. Should have blogged earlier, but what can I say, I got caught up with the whole 'life' thing. Sorry. Just getting the excuses part of an 'athon in early. Yes, I'm Juneathoning again. Same as January, not taking it as seriously as last year, not pushing so hard as I'm nursing some injuries and niggles and want to not break myself, since I'm going to the Grand Raid des Pyrenees again and can't really afford to be completely broken before I even get there! So Juneathon will once more be a mixed affair and we'll see what turns out. So far this 'athon, we've had Day 1 - 3.15km walk/jog. Well, jog from the Better Half's to Morrisons just before closing time, and jog-walk a slightly longer way back to make up distance. Day 2 - 3hrs climbing/bouldering. At Leeds Wall, after a day of driving up and down Yorkshire. Much needed. Day 3 - 4.78km run. From home, to the far end of Meanwood Park and the Ring Road, then back. Day 4 - ...
